If you notice alot of roof top shots thats because I wanted to show the different paintings and murals of Buddha. They have different scenes painted on each side. I also totally regret not taking pictures of food! The upcoming year i’ll eat lots of food and totally take pictures of everything!~ LOL

Khmer New Years 2008

By Tinah | January 19, 2009

I know these photo’s are a bit out dated, but I wanted to post them anyways. These are some of the beautiful parts of the Cambodian Temple in Ducanville, Texas. One day when I have time. I might go and take pictures of it while it’s vacant meaning no celebrations or anything just an average day.

Body #19 Movie Review

By Tinah | January 18, 2009

body-1904

body-1901body-1902body-1903body-1905

Body #19 is one of those must watch. If you haven’t seen it; I totally recommend it. The story has great twists. It’s not those average supernatural thriller. I give it 10/10! The acting is superb. Also you get to preview the acting of new comer Pae Arak who will be previewing in a lakorn with non other than the legendary Aum Patcharapa.

Here’s the plot:

Chon, a med student, starts seeing a psychotherapist after he dreams about a woman who he had only met once in a restaurant.

In his dreams, a mysterious man murders her, slices her body into pieces, and flushes them down a toilet one by one. The murderous dreams haunt him into his waking memory, and eventually he feels as if his own body is being dissected and carved up by the surgical knife. Slowly, the terrifying images take control of him. He comes to believe that the dead woman is sending him messages through these nightmares. But these are not messages for him, they are meant for her murderer. They speak of revenge, and say: “I am still here.”

I’ll say that this movie is awesome. I’ve read so many reviews on it and lots of them being bad. Most of those reviews are by westerners. I hate how westerners get to critique Asian Cinegraphy. Why? Because they give bias reviews towards the Western horror films in comparison to Asian horror film. I once read a review by someone who totally praised One Missed Call the American version and totally bashed the Asian version! Dude any movie lover would know that the Asian version was much better and the plot and storyline was constant where in the American version they totally added so much crap that the original movie didn’t have. All that crap NEVER ties into the movie either! My family and I totally loved Body #19. Even my 6 and 10 year old sisters found it entertaining. What we liked was that the story took a turn for the unexpected. If you play close attention to details you would totally be able to figure out and go OHHH in the ending of the movie. I urge that you DO NOT read any spoilers for the movies prior to watching it because it will totally ruin it for you.

Just to be clear my criticism on Western critics aren’t meant to be offensive. After being pointed out. I realized that I never went back to correct myself on that. I totally didn’t mean to be offensive and I do appreciate everyone’s opinion and review’s it’s just that I get kind of upset when I see 100 bias remarks against a perfectly beautiful work against a noticeable piece of crap; thus forgetting everyone’s opinion is different. Remember my blog is all fun and games. I may say things I don’t mean sometimes but I’ll always go back and correct myself when I feel better.

Myspace

By Tinah | January 18, 2009

I’m not really a myspace person, but I don’t have the heart to delete it lol because there are so many memories in it. Anyhow; I’m somewhat the type that get’s creative when I’m bored lol and this is the design of my myspace; It’s not the best but I’m really proud of it.  I kind of blinked out the two images below Tim and I because they are pictures of my little sisters that are too young to be posted lol; Kind of amazing I never really knew how long it was until I screencapped it lmao; it took about 12 screencaps to get it all. Another thing is I love to write lol so thats why you can see so much writing on my page. I guess it’s a little expression of me.

[Tv]A Haunting

By Tinah | October 22, 2008

It’s weird how I became so attached to this show. We were at a clinic waiting to get drug test administered for a job and this show was the show they had on so we liked it and one day we were flipping through the channels at home and came across the discovery channel and it was around 2 pm the same time we were at that clinic and the show was on. Everyday we would look forward to watching this show that it’s weird lol.

Asia Times Square 2

By Tinah | October 11, 2008

Ok so these pictures aren’t exactly too clear because they were yet again taken from my phone! I couldn’t find the adapter to put the memory card in my digi cam and apparently I didn’t have my digi cam’s mem card in it lol but this is the front of Asia Time’s Square “Hong Kong” in the day time. As you can see the other little side stores beside it. Now lets take a tour of whats inside Asia Time’s square or Hong Kong!

This is where we went for dinner today. Well we did to go lol and took it home, but 10 lbs of crawfish! Extra Extra Spicy. 10 lbs doesn’t sound like a lot but we were getting full pretty fast. There were 6 of us eating lol. Rawr I love how they make that very spicy sauce like exactly how I like it. I believe 10 lbs is like 54 bucks. If you want it extra spicy you’ll have to let her know, but of course knowing my lao blood nothing is ever to spicy for me!

This is a place next door where i use to eat often, I don’t know what the deal is now. I think they only open at certain times -.-” I notice I would see people if I go before 2 but isn’t that the usual time sushi restaurants close after lunch and reopen like at 6?

Another great place! Taste or Korea! I love love this place. Their Korean food is not bad actually. I don’t have a particular favorite lol because I always just order something different and anything that looks yummy on the menu that particular day.

This is a store next door somewhat to taste of korea. It’s a Decor 1. It has plenty of home decorations and of course decorations for Asian homes -.-”

This photo isn’t exactly to clear but this is across from Decor somewhat or around the corner theres a Deli. The Deli makes the food for the restaurant next door Bistro B’s such as those viet hoagies or Banh Mi as many people call it. I’m quite unsure because I think Banh Mi just means bread lol but -.-” You guys know which Viet Sandwhiches I’m talking about. I think they also make Spring Rolls! Gotta Love Spring Rolls!

Gosh! I love this place. It’s wonderful for Vietnamese food. They also have a Thai hot pot. The hot pots are great size for a great price. They even have a menu for family dinners. A menu that could feed up to 9 family members or more I believe. My personal favorite are their spring rolls which they get from the deli next door lol. The spring roll is awesome. I love love thier broken rice dishes also. Their Durian Boba Tea! Must have of course if you could take Durian!

This is a tailoring shop on the other side. Of course they tailor and do alterations to special event Asian style dresses

They call this place Khoblo candy store. It’s a store that has those oldie snacks lol. Like urmmm pickled mango’s pickled other fruits actually. It’s those different type of candy’s that your parents use to buy you when you were little lol.

Their Video store =/ blurried pic NO!~

oO I’m sure this stuff look familiar to lots of Asian. Its our bakery foods! Such as cooked pork rolls. Sweets and Etc

This is actually a part of Bistro B’s the part that makes their tea’s ice cream, and of course other types of small foods like spring rolls and pork rice rolls and so forth

Some food from the Bakery ^__^

A barbie cake! So pretty! LOL

Pork spring rolls! As corrected by one of my readers hehe thank you! Yes Salmon! I love the shrimp ones but they didn’t have it at that particular moment. It’s a Bistro B’s creation lol. I love love it especially the crunch that it has.

Banh Bao! Who doesn’t love steam buns?! I sure doo! These consist of BBQ Pork Steam bun, Chicken Steam Bun, Of Course A full steam bun which has Quail eggs, and A slice of Chinese Sausage and the usual ground pork insides. And there are some rice cakes here also.

Mo chi! Gotta love this stuff Mo chi by definition is

Mochi (Japanese: ; Chinese: ) is a Japanese and Chinese rice cake made of glutinous rice pounded into paste and molded into shape. In Japan it is traditionally made in a ceremony called mochitsuki. While also eaten year-round, mochi is a traditional food for the Japanese New Year and is commonly sold and eaten during that time.

Mochi is similar to the Chinese rice cake nian gao; however, mochi is shaped from cooked glutinous rice right after it is pounded, whereas nian gao is steamed directly to its final form from a batter made of uncooked glutinous rice flour. In the Philippines, it is called palitao in Tagalog and is coated with sesame seeds and grated coconut.

Credit to Wikipedia Link & this was some good stuff! They also have mo chi ice cream of course!

Last but not least finish off our tour with some refreshing Boba Tea! A Thai Tea for Jennifer and One for Lisa and a Durian Tea with Grass Jelly For Tinah Please!

Lol ^__^

My Thoughts On Marriage

By Tinah | October 4, 2008

This is actually something I wrote a long time ago for my myspace -.-” LOL

Marriage and being the good spouse

What is marriage? In my definition marriage is the spiritual and eternal bond of two hearts. By two hearts I mean two people in love. A legal definition would be a binding of two people in a chapel or church. In my views marriage is decided upon two people. If the two people decide they want to be married, then the paperwork and the ceremony does not even need to happen. I consider my significant other my husband or my spouse because he and I share a love that surpasses that of an average dating couple. We love one another to the point where being “boyfriends” or “girlfriends” is not enough. Yes we do take in consideration the moral and legal obligations, but for right now we choose to do what we feel in our hearts is right. Obligations such as moral and legal ones we both decided to leave that out for awhile. On the other hand it takes more than love to hold together a great relationship let alone a great marriage.
