What is marriage? In my definition marriage is the spiritual and eternal bond of two hearts. By two hearts I mean two people in love. A legal definition would be a binding of two people in a chapel or church. In my views marriage is decided upon two people. If the two people decide they want to be married, then the paperwork and the ceremony does not even need to happen. I consider my significant other my husband or my spouse because he and I share a love that surpasses that of an average dating couple. We love one another to the point where being “boyfriends” or “girlfriends” is not enough. Yes we do take in consideration the moral and legal obligations, but for right now we choose to do what we feel in our hearts is right. Obligations such as moral and legal ones we both decided to leave that out for awhile. On the other hand it takes more than love to hold together a great relationship let alone a great marriage.

When I first met Tim I never would have guessed that he would be “The One.” By the one I mean my soul mate, my life partner, my heart, my greatest love, and husband. True we may not be officially married whether it’s legally or morally; but we definitely consider ourselves to be. The love we share for one another travel far beyond a simple signature on a sheet of paper or a traditional ceremony. Since we first met until now our relationship travelled far distances and many cold and lonely nights. There were times where we drove ourselves crazy. Driving ourselves crazy because we missing each other so much. From the day we first met till now our communication has been nothing short of magnificent. We have never had a moment where we did not understand each other. Minor conflicts of interests we did come across every now and then, but that’s typical with every couple. It sounds like our relationship doesn’t receive much excitement? Wrong. Although we don’t have arguments and we understand each other very well about everything; our relationship is still very exciting and above average. Although, we spend a lot of time insulting one another and smacking one another playfully we know that beyond those little gestures are our feelings and love for one another.

A lot of people say that a lot of girls are possibly envious of what I have. I wouldn’t doubt nor blame them. If I were another girl I would be envious of myself also. It’s hard to find a great guy like Tim and share the type of relationship that he and I share. Between the two of us I would have to say that Tim is the better spouse. He takes care of not only me, but my family. He worries about the well being of everyone in the household and make sure we get what we need. It is very hard to find a guy at his age that takes “Family” very serious. I am lucky to have Tim as my wonderful other half. The thing that amazed me most about him is how he preferred to introduce and call me his wife rather than girlfriend. I loved how he would scold me for introducing him or referring him as my boyfriend. His visions to begin the family we both desire is also what caught me in his hands. All I can say is that if he did not think ahead and plan well on our future we would not be as happy as we are today.

Being a good spouse such as Tim takes a lot of work such as, Dedication, Commitment, Desire, and Heart. Thinking of step ahead all the time, considering every possibility to a small problem, resolving any mixed or contraceptive feelings, and taking the time to see all that goes on. Tim is the one in this great marriage that holds it all together. He puts his 210 percent in at all times. That is why I’m proud and honored to say that he is the better or great spouse.

“Many can try to separate the bond and the hold that two hearts placed together, but only a bond that has been broken or weaken once can be destroyed twice. However, a bond and hold as great as ours is something that will take heaven itself to test. Whether it’s been attempted or not isn’t the question. The question is why attempt something that is impossible to do. Faith, Destiny, Love brought us together and Faith, Destiny, and Love will keep us together. We possess all the keys that are required to lock our hearts together for eternity and beyond.” –Tina Syrypanha 07.31.2007
