Car Ornaments?

By Tinah | April 1, 2009

car-ornaments

This is probably something that many of us are use to, “Rearview Mirror Ornaments.” I have to say I have to have to have one of these in my car the buddha/dharma ornament. It just makes me feel more at ease. I’m not highly religious, but it’s just something some of us do because it’s passed down from tradtion I guess? I use to have one on my dash, but I have no clue where my mom put it.  I don’t know where I am going with this post, but I guess it’s for the most part curiousity and how many other people have this compulsion to have a dharma/buddha ornament hanging on the rearview mirror. At one point they were illegal well I think anything hanging off your rearview mirror is deemed illegal in some states. I think if they tried to ban it they would be pulling people over left and right everyday and besides some of us have a decent argument, “it’s the freedom of religion.” I guess some people consider it as an obstruction to the driver’s view; in which I will have to say that I only agree if it’s some big decoration, but look at this! How can i possibly block anyone’s view?

the car ornament that I don’t get are those cd looking things. Are those really CDs that people like and thought they’d hang it up?

I have a Yantra cloth that’s given to me by Ajahn at the temple, but I keep it in the glasses compartment overhead. As for car ornament, I have a wooden Chinese couple with a bell, it’s very small.

Yours is not that big, I don’t think it’s that noticeable.
